Fished the outgoing tide today on Sullivan’s with my brother. He and I both picked up a big flounder each. We caught about 15 total, all but the two big ones were right at keeper or smaller. Caught about 15 total trout, all small males. one red that was under slot. Tons of menhaden out there, didn’t see a single thing hitting them. All but one flounder were caught on live mullet. The artificial game was just not happening today unfortunately. The one hit on a jig was a flounder and no other hits after.
This old timer hasn’t seen a flounder in a while, I wish you could post a picture. I remember catching them out there when we got off work building the light house.
You killed it Bo! That is a great day of fishing Hionadid. Thanks for the report.
Very nice.Thanks for the report.
Very nice! I only catch them by accident and when I do, they already have my wife’s name on them.
“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?
Congrats. That is a nice haul for that young man.
I can’t imagine catching that many flounder especially in the surf. If I try to use live bait this time of year I can’t keep the sharks and blues off of it for more than a minute. Any tips that your might have for targeting flounder with live bait?
