Sullivans island 10/7 - 10/8 mt pleasant pier

Fished sullivans all day on 10/7. Kept cut whiting out as well as my shark rod out. All we caught were bluefish and whiting.

Fished mt pleasant pier in the afternoon with fidler crabs. Was pretty slow we seemed to be the only ones reeling anything in. Caught a bunch of toadfish and one sheepshead. Finished the day out at sullivans in a new spot. Threw a few scaps of fish covering my circle hook on ny shark rid out. Didnt had a big solid chunk. Had shark run after shark run. With 4 misses we finally caught a whiting and i could rig it proper and we caught a sandbar instantly. I also hooked into a very large one after halfway through the fight the hook came out his mouth. (Investing in a hook sharpener today). Had to pack it early because i had to get the little one to bed.

Nics catch which bait does the bluefish like? I couldnt catch any of them in IOP i might try Sullivan

Way to go Dad. Everybody smiling…even the fish.

Cut whiting on the bluefish. Use a small chunk about the size of a nickle. I use trenle hooks now and i get them almost everytime with those.

What type of rig do you use those treble hook?

Just a single hook bottom rig. I use to use a double but they just stole all my bait too fast.
