We got to the beach around 1130pm and stayed till 730pm. We caught around 25 whiting. Probably would have doubled that number if we were next to our poles the whole time. We had to tuck back into a cove to be sheltered from the wind and sand being blown at us. I didnt see anyone else fishing. Winds were too strong for my drone to go out so i didnt get my shark rod out. Other then the wind it was a great fishing day. Will be back out next weekend. Also not sure how fast the wind was but my weather app said 13mph and it felt double that.
Tearing those whiting up Stevo!!! You gonna nail a big shark soon enough:smiley: Be ready with your ditch bag/tools and get um back quick. You asked about what I use in another thread for fish. 30lb braid/20ft of 30lb mono top shot/ fish finder rig with 50lb liter/ #5 owner circle hook. Can’t wait to see your monster it’s coming:smiley: Fish away from people/night is best no one out.
Yes we have found a spot down away from the majority of people where we will most likely continue fishing. We never fish near people. I hope i do get a nie size shark here soon. Thanks for the info im going to set up a fish finder rig this weekend.
I would stick to what your doing it’s working. I use the fish finder rig for cut bait targeting reds. If you are using a different rig with several hooks for smaller fish whiting and such hookup will be better using your method. Don’t fix what ain’t broken.
I know that spot, I actually go there a lot myself. I have hooked many sharks (generally unintentionally) in that location. Looking forward to seeing on the forum what you wind up with.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Don’t teach a man to fish… and feed yourself. He’s a grown man. And fishing’s not that hard.
