A couple of weeks ago I wrote and article about a new fishing saltwater fishing club coming to the Summerville area. Many people including myself felt that this club was long overdue and given the level of interest, I believe that was correct. After several meetings and too many emails among the board, the club is coming to life. The club website is almost complete and may be live by the time you receive this newsletter. The words I heard passed around in all of the meetings weve had were fun, friends, and family. The club is designed to bring anglers young and old together for fellowship, learning and a strong family element that will become the very fabric of the club. Long time angler Ralph Phillips was the catalyst that saw the need for this type of club and began to put a group together that he felt would be able to take this great idea and put it into action. The final meeting of the temporary board of directors was last night. There are many things to be excited about including a complete tournament schedule with divisions for adults and kids alike. There will be social events for the whole family to attend and plenty of learning opportunities for experienced and new anglers. The club now has a name, the Summerville Saltwater Anglers Club (SSWA)
The club will have it membership meeting on Monday April 11th at 6:30pm at Miler Country Club. Here is a copy of the agenda:
