Sunday Surprise...

getting the boat ready for next weekend MAD event in Charleston i decided to take the boat for a spin after cleaning carbs and checking fluids…

i had some old frozen shrimp so i decided to head off of Parris Island around 0900 at the change of tide…

most times just some whiting and undersize black sea bass…

got this as a surprise as the water was calm during the change of tide… hope i can find this next weekend in Charleston for the Vets

Yep. A Spotted Sea Trout without spots is a weakfish. I think they are more common out on the wrecks, although some are caught in the inlets. Also, Spotted Sea Trout usually prefer live bait and moving water. Still a nice fish cj5.

SCDNR website has a good species ID page. I think the limit on Weakfish is 1.
