When I got down to my boat @ Edisto Marina Sunday morning, to do a little pleasure fishing, the water was a little too dingy to catch trout. I started to turn around, but I talked to some fisherman, just getting in, who told me it was clearer on up the Edisto. I pulled in to the first spot, a flat with deep water nearby, and it was on! They were non keepers and barely keepers. l fan cast topwater, crankbaits, Flukes, and could only catch them on Trout Tricks. I fished the whole flat, looking for a school of bigger fish. These fish were in an area about the size of a house. I very rarely catch bigger fish around small fish, so I left them, ran two more spots without a bite I stopped back at the first spot, to see if some bigger fish had moved in. I threw the same four baits and this time the Fluke caught them as well as the Trout Trick. Was this a new school of fish, or had conditions changed? I don’t know, but this is one of the things I love about fishing. Then it was off to pick up the wife and on to Otter Is. for some fun in the sun.
