Fished the North Edisto yesterday went straight to the beach caught enough bait for five boats. Put the spread in the the water two on top and two on bottom. Time the last bottom rig hit bottom the two top lines took off. Buy the time we picked up the first rod both bottom rigs took off lost all train of thought and did not get hook set on any thing. Must have been small sharks.(I hope) Ten minutes later bottom left took of took my time put a little pressure and fight was on about spooled the rod so we tighten the drag and pop. I threw the rod in the bottom of boat looked back toward seabrook and big silver fish comes three foot out of the water. I picked up the rod and threw it again. Set up the spread again and caught a few small black tips. About nine the water got to rough and we headed toward steam boat. Ended up with one keeper trout, one small trout, two small redfish. Great day though at least I know they are there will be back this weekend.
redboat are you trolling with downriggers? How fast do you troll when fishing with live bait (menhaden)?
