Was able to get out again this morning. Got to one of my favorite spots early. Falling tide, Pelicans diving on the Menhaden, Dolphin swimming by. Fresh shrimp for bait. Some decent Whiting, a small Jack Crevall and Pompano…and 10 fat Stingrays. I think Jarvis put the Voodoo on me. Had a storm head come by that produced some water spouts, pretty cool.
This is what happens when a fat Ray swims through your set!!!</font id=“size5”>
Hey David I think its stingray season… They love eating the cut whiting on my bait as well and the shrimp. The only way I avoid them is when I put a fishbites artificial bait then I am getting only the whiting and was hoping for pompano too…
rays are everywhere… I was on folly and had a sewer top sized ray pull my rod down rod holder and all. I was snapping a pic of the sunset and luckily some beachwalkers saw it and yelled at me. It was my 12’ rod and I saw the butt bobbing in the waves so I was able to get it back. If it was one of my smaller rods I probably wouldn’t have it anymore.
