We’re planning a weekend to Edisto in late April to early May, and I’m wondering how the surf fishing is that time of year. What’s biting, where are the best places to fish, and what bait is normally most productive?
Thanks,
Blake

you can catch a bunch of whiting that time of year. for bait, get some medium sized shrimp from one of the seafood stores.
According to my friend who surf fishes alot during the spring and summer, just look for the bait fish hitting the water, the birds, and any spots that just look different. He does not post on here but looks at this site everyday. He is usually fishing around the point with his Boykin named “Sugar”. If you see him out there, he can fill you in on what is working that week. Welcome to Edisto, the site, and enjoy your stay on Edisto!
If you have a boat, you should try otter island. Catch alot of large sharks surf fishing there
