I don’t know who this guy is, but this picture was on a fishing report from Ocracoke Island a couple days ago. It’s a special place out there, I’ve never had a folly beach trip end with a fish like this.
not all that uncommon up there, particularly at the point at Buxton. I’ve seen anything from cobia, large sharks, false albacore landed there over the years. Lots of cobia at the point , especially when the bait is kayaked out. It’s a special place. No place on SC coast holds a candle to it. Sailfish, dolphin have been hooked off piers there over the years.
The Point is arguably the most productive surf spot on the east coast other than parts of Florida, my father pulled in a 11’ hammerhead there when I was a kid. Sad to say, it probably won’t be there in a few years.
