Another good surf day. Lot’s of nice Black Drum and a 20" Red. Water temp is still okay after the cold snap.

Yes. When they turn on. 10-12 slots. With some under and 1 or 2 biguns 27+. Haven’t caught a 30" Black yet. Here’s a nice slotter from today.

Awesome. Been a while since I landed a black, been spending most of my time in the jon boat, and haven’t found any inshore spots for blacks. The slot sizes are excellent eating.

I wouldn’t know how they taste. I do know the are very stinky! A lot of fun to catch though.

They are good. The larger ones tend to be a bit strong flavored to me but none of the slot sizes are going to be that big. I have yet to catch anything resembling a “trophy” black but they are a around. My biggest red is from the surf (36") and all of my black drum are either surf or inlet. I probably haven’t caught a black more than 22-24", it’s been several years.
