looking at getting some 14" squid for swords. cannot get them locally as far as i can find.
looking at ordering some online $2 each. shipping is about 150-200 for overnight package, so it turns out to be a good deal if someone wants to go in with me and order some to save on shipping.
ordering next week, so let me know if anyone is interested or has any other leads for them locally.
Are you in Beaufort or HH? Have you spoke with Beaufort Boat & Dock. I checked a week or so ago and they said they could order some and get them the following week. Not sure of the exact size but I have used the big squid they can get before for swords.
beaufort boat called their distributor and i will be a few months before they can get some. even with the shipping, i can get 40@ about 7 dollars a piece.
if people wanted to put a larger order together i am sure we could get down to about $5 a piece.
how much were they at B&D?

i called southern drawl to see what they can do. i would not mind at all supporting sellsfish, but i will gladly pay shipping before spending half a day in a vehicle!
Cherry Point Seafood, only place I know of, picked up a flat of sword mackerel and squid late last summer.
Baracuda, I did not check on the price, just what kind of time frame I would be looking at to get some ordered. I did not bother having them call on availability either. Glad you did.

i was thinking about ordering next week. they are delivered next day air on dry ice. that’s the reason for the high shipping price. i am going to jacksonville this week, so i will shop around there and see if i can pick some up. if not i will order some. figure if there’s more folks that want some we will all save.
Baracuda, where you ordering them from? I may be interested and would like to have a look. Also, out of curiosity, where do you fish out of, if you don’t mind sharing.
i am in jacksonville at the moment. getting baitmaster 12" 2 @ 7.00 from C&H headquarters. i got 20 for me. will be here until friday if you want some.

Gotcha. Appreciate the offer but I will probably hold off. I have a guy that I fish with that lives in the Charleston area that is going to round some up. I may even try to rig some fresh ones and freeze them. Have you ever tried that? That being said I have no intention to pay much if any more for fresh. Not like it takes that long to rig a squid.
These are not fresh. Got some good info from another member here. Going to defrost then, rig, and package individually
