looking for a good spot to take my wife kayaking, I know creeks where I fish, but several of them are back in the sticks lookin’ for reds and what not. I live a mile from the broad river bridge, willing to drive a little bit, but not too far. thanks in advance

Hunting Island state park lagoon. You won’t have to worry about boat wakes and idiots on jet skis running her down.

Hunting Island is a good option.
The Oyster Factory in Bluffton isn’t bad. It puts you out on the May River. The marsh is straight across, or you can paddle upstream to the marshes. Fishing can be iffy.
Sam’s point gives some options, but you do have boaters and it is a bit of a paddle to the marsh.
On HHI, you can access Broad Creek landing. It is way upstream so minimal boaters and it puts you right in the marsh. From the bridge though it is a bit of a drive.
