Thanks y'all!!!

Just wanted to say a heartfelt “Thank you!!” to everyone for all the help and advice when we were down there last week!!!

Fortunately Jimmy Smith at Unique Welding was very capable of getting us back on the water…he was more than willing to make sure everything was “just right” before we left his place. So here’s some free advertising for him!!! Good man!!!

Only lost maybe a day and a half on the water but was still able to get out and make sure the under slot trout and red drum (and pinfish/dogfish/mantas) were well fed  Still ended up with a couple of good reds and trout, so we’ve got some to fix on the grill later up here when the snow is flying.

My Dad is still amazed at the acres and acres of salt marsh along with the tides…something that you all live with on a daily basis and take for granted.

My Dad even got to snag a 22" red by hand!!!..saw what we thought was a popping cork that I’d lost several days earlier on a break off. After chasing the cork up and down the edge of the grass over several hundred yards he managed to grab the cork and sure got a surprise!! …he was not expecting that big of a fish  Wasn’t even my cork either since it had a wire leader and I always use mono.

He’s ready to come back down again next year if the good Lord is willing!

Thanks again!

It was good to see you, however brief it was. Thanks again for bringing the pickled stuff down for me!! That was very cool of ya. Glad your dad had a good time as well.

Take care, Doug!

I lost my dad in 2005, but the memories of the years and years we spent fishing together live on. Glad you got some “Dad time” on the water.

Nothing like Dad time. Mine taught me most of what I know about fishing. Lost him in 2007, sure do miss fishing with him.

Glad you got fixed up and had a good trip :sunglasses:
