Hey ya’ll,
I took the kiddos out to IOP today since it was a decent day out. they wanted to play in the sand and I figured I'd wet a line just to see. Didn't plan on catching anything but instead a whole bunch of slot size reds with a few black drum mixed in wore the kids out pretty good. Ran the whole slot limit from 15 1/2" to 22" with the reds and one lower slot black drum and a few under slots. All fish caught on the last half of the incoming on frozen pieces of shrimp intended for whiting.

Congrats on the catch! Looks like the fish wanted to run today. Were you near an inlet?
Not really, I was at least a mile from the closest inlet.

nicely done! water temps are still good. im gonna have to go wednesday or thursday if i cant find a boat ride

Yeah it was great watching them pull in some decent fish. Also they had empty bellies except for the pieces of shrimp we used for bait. The fish were real aggressive too. On my smallest rod the only way I can describe the hits would be to tell ya to watch a video of guys jigging for big ajs. I thought my rod was gonna break they were hitting so hard. And they were all either on the bar or in the gut right off the shore.
