Went to well-know know hole on the Steamboat landing side. Fished the last of the outgoing and some of the ingoing. Dead shrimp on the bottom accounted for all of our 20 plus redfish. Most slot size, kept a couple for dinner. A beautiful day, it was lonely out there. Going to see if we can find a few catfish in the morning.
Fresh water or salt water cats?
More importantly. Where is the redfish hole?
You all know that we can’t keep salt water cats, even if you could find them And I never thought about eating one??.. I am sure you remember like I do the years you could not keep those things off your hook. Anyway, we put in at the Dawhoo bridge and motored toward the fresh water. We fish the deeper channels and caught quite a few fish. Worms on a regular bottom rig. Saw no boats again, was a gorgeous day.
The “well known” redfish hole. That will remain “well known”. It really surprised me that the fish were biting anywhere given the cold and lack of bait. It encouraged me to try some of the other places I frequent. So, when the weather improves a bit, I think I will give it another shot.
Good job. Wish I was fishing
I have found saltwater cats make good cobia baits! uss a side cutter or shrubbery sheers to cut off the fins, they will live forever if not bit!
