I think I understand you a little better now Skeeter. Thank you for your service to our country. I hold our military men and women in highest regard and happily participated in the MAD Charleston event last year and intend to again this year.

I don’t neck size on belted magnums, full length only. RCBS makes great equipment but the lock rings on their dies suck, get some Hornady lock rings. Comp seating dies are great but you can still have runout. I typically use the standard seating die and the comparator to adjust runout.
Lots of rifle loading = Chargemaster.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Oh no…Skeeter don’t plan on doing a bunch of reloading . In fact, I don’t even think I will save money doing it, but I bet I can build better performing bullets than the factory that is specific to my rifles. I want to make precise bullets for bolt actions that shoot tighter than factory ammo’s cookie cutter saami spec. If I get stumped, I hope I can lean on your experience for help.

For now though, I want meat mashers while I can still get them. If ole Killery gets elected, we will be under fire even worse than now about our firearms.
That’s exactly why I bought the M1A, didn’t need it, probably won’t ever hunt with it, just wanted to get one while I still could, along with plenty of high cap magazines. If nothing else, it’s money in the bank.

When I buy a new rifle, I don’t buy factory ammo, I buy components to make my own. I like custom tailoring a load to the gun. Working on a .243 I put together not long ago. I’m close but was beginning to worry I had gotten a Monday barrel.

You wouldn’t happen to know where I can find Federal 215 Large Magnum Primers, by chance? Can’t seem to find them anywhere on the net.

Winchester and CCI are just as good. You won’t see a ton of difference until you get into match grade on burn consistency. I’ve been shooting Winchester for 25 years, had one primer failure in that time which I’m pretty sure was my fault. That’s a whole lot of rounds too.

Salty,
I started out using CCI250. Nothing shot worth a crap. I switched to Winchester WLRM’s and everything tightened up instantly. Hmmmm. I emailed federal. They said we will be lucky to see and Federal rifle primers before deer season. I want some GM215’s and GM210’s. 1000 of each would last me a very long time.
