The player at the very bottom of the picture has to be inside of that last hash mark. He was outside of it, so he was offsides.
All players must be between the 9 yard mark when the ready for play whistle sounds.

Fritz…Can’t say that I’ve seen that call before, but I’ve never been to Mt. Rushmore either. Doesn’t mean that it’s not there. UNC was ahead by 2 points after the 1st quarter. After that they got their azzez beat. 600+ yards of offense…End of story.

Kicker’s responsible for making sure nobody’s too close to the sidelines (outside the 9yd hashes) when the ref hands him the ball and also for counting to make sure there’s 10 more on the field within 5 yards.

This was a kicker screwup as bad as the uncalled Clemson fake punt. Fedora went after refs because they called it offsides rather than illegal procedure.
