EPIC wahoo bite today! Ended up with 8 blackfins, 1 dolphin, 8 wahoo. 4 of the wahoo were over 40lbs (48, 42, 41, 41, 33, 27, were the biggest ones). Lost another 40lb wahoo next to the boat and missed several more. Flat calm ocean!
Almost forgot to mention our “Trash Can Super Slam”!!! Pulled in 3 bonitas, 1 shark, 1 barracuda, and a reef donkey! The shark wasted a good 30 minutes of our day…
But the highlight of the day was that I broke ANOTHER TACO outrigger (That’s 3 poles in 5 years) on the first fish of the day. I had an extra one and we spent 20 minutes rigging the backup offshore. Got a new pole in and were back in action.
I’m really happy for you as I’m staring at the physiology of the GI tract in the library. I wonder if this window on the third floor opens… jk. Congrats man, sounds like an unreal day.
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.
I would have dropped lines just inshore of the 226 hole if I had been able to play hookie. I bet I’m not too far off from where Skinny was loading the box.
