@ the Turtle. No Cobia today.

fished @ the turtle, no cobia. Boss caught one good red, she went 41 1/2" scale said she was 28lbs, but that fish felt way heavier than that. Also hooked up to a big loggerhead too, cut the line for him, hopefully he’ll be okay.

Man - thats a slob bass.

That looks bigger that 28 to me too. Nice Red!

I did not think those big bulls were in the river this time of year…

Bet you thought you had a nice Cobia…

we all were guessing 40lbs before I weighed it, guess I shouldn’t have weighed it. lol we thought he hooked our first ling of the year all the way to the boat. We seen another boat catch a good bull as well DoubleN.

I hope you did not read my message as though I was questioning whether or not you caught it in the river…I never doubted it. Just did not realize the big boys were in this time of year.

Thanks for posting it and hope to see ya around down there!

Good luck on the ling,

Double N, No not at all sir. I actually thought October was the best time and that they moved out at this time of year as well. Apparently not right? It was a text book run, hook set, fight, and release. Can’t wait until it’s me on the other end of the pole. but Mr. V (the guy in the picture) got him today. See ya out there.

Pardon me asking a naive question, but when you say “ling”, are you referring to cobia?

Moral judgment under girds the entire structure of laws and is necessary for the rational structure of any significant statute. The idea that our laws can stand independent of moral foundation is senseless.----- Albert Mohler.

Yes, Ling, Lemonfish, Cobia…same thing.

You got that right!…If you gaff a big one while it is green and drop it in the deck of your boat you may come up with some other names for it too!!!

hahahaha… So I’ve heard! I hear them boneheads <------ (another name we missed) have been known to break bones such as wrists and ribs.

That is a fine redfish right there :sunglasses:

I can vouch for that [:0] In 50 years of fishing for fish with teeth, bills and gill plates, the worst I’ve ever been hurt by a fish was a large green cobia. It did break my wrist and some ribs, and did $5000 of damage to my boat, and $10K to me. Don’t underestimate a cobia. They have a whole different attitude than a redfish

If you’re lucky enough to be fishing, you’re lucky enough.

Nice Red , I would guess 40 lbs. I know that the bulls run in summer in Broad River .
