while i was draining the water out of my tank into my minnow bucket the incoming tide and wind blew me up on that big mud flat between the banks and the inter coastal. but luckily i was sitting on the mud when that (**() wave came over the stern and filled the back of my boat with water, bailed water out of boat, walked across the mud dragging boat, got motor started and had to fight the “tide change waves” all the way back to fields point, but hey i caught a fish…
I sure am hearing a lot of stories about H2O getting is gas tanks. It’s happened to me now twice in a year on 2 different boats. Surprised you were able to get the motor going again.

i actually filled up my almost empty tank, with ethanol free that morning, on my way,i dont know how i made it from fields point to otter island, then only had problems when i went to leave (guess the water settled out while i was fishing) anyway the water had to come from the gas station

I’m as guilty as anybody but the worse thing we can do is let a empty tank sit. The more air in the tank the more water you will accumulate. Best thing to do is top off the gas tank on the way home. And some fuel treatment. When this has happened to me I empty the small inline filter on the motor. It won’t let water pass but when it gets full it won’t let fuel pass either. I’ve had to empty it more than once just to get back to the ramp. Just some thoughts.
