This Weekend?

Is anyone thinking about going offshore this weekend? It looks marginal at best, to me…but then I haven’t been out since October, and urgently need to go. The reports call for 3-6 foot swells on Saturday, subsiding some on Sunday when the wind lays down. And the projections seem to be improving a little each day - at this point.

On the other hand, the last time out, we fished in 7-foot seas, and I swore I’d never do that again.

We hope to go on saturday, hoping and going are two different things. May decide at the last minute.

We are going to be there tomorrow and hope to go Friday but watching the weather also. Wind does not look good from what I am seeing. Saturday does give a little hope in the forecast.

2-4 can be good or bad.

4-5 was real bad last Friday morning at the Edisto Banks.

We are now planning to go out Sunday, if the forecast holds. ’ will try to troll, or bottom fish if the ride is too rough. Let me know if you might be going out then too.

Went yesterday to 75 ft for some BSB. They called for 2 ft. seas with the wind subsiding. That was not true. It was a little rough out there. 4 to 6 at 3 sec intervals. Although, we did catch the limit on BSB and back at the dock by 1030AM.

Roger,

We spoke the other weekend at the dock (I have the white McKee); we are thinking about going Sunday as well depending on the weather.

Went to the 40 Saturday and all small BSB but the 60 produced a good limit X 2 for my boat. Sea was not as bad as people were talking. We had a good ride out and back with some bad waves in between but a good time on the pond. Nice size BSB at the 60 if anyone is going tomorrow.

We did make it out, with lines in about daylight. ’ ended up with 8 dolphin and one ‘hoo…almost all pretty good size. But it was rough going out, and again when the wind got up mid-day. Coming in was nice.
’ fished with Paul and Chuck in ’ Hoos Lookin’. It was great to be out after six months in dry dock.
