This weekend

anybody going out tomorrow?

I’ve been gone for the past 3 weekends so I got a lengthy “honey-do” list to knock out this weekend :frowning:

Did not see a report. Did you end up going offshore?. The FAM wants to go hang out at Bull Point today but weather permitting we plan on going to the BF 45 and Betsy one day this week. Anyone been out there lately or other suggestions coming out of Port Royal sound? Fishing off a 20’ single engine. Thanks

We are going out in the am. VHF 16/68 What the HEK Good luck

Anybody have any luck? I may try to go out on the 4th. I am just getting started saltwater fishing and will mostly be fishing Port Royal Sound, Betsy Ross and others reefs listed on the maps. My dock neighbor went out this afternoon caught a few small sharks in the PRS. That’s about all I’ve heard.

Went out Friday afternoon. Looked for about an hour for pogies and gave up. Trolled for Spanish in the shipping channel out three miles. Lost of small bait and fish. Wind seemed to have everything scattered. Hope tomorrow will be better. Also on VHF 67/68
We did manage a few Spanish on diving crankbaits. Rapala and manns stretch 15

Bait was all the way at the end of the north breakers of Hilton Head. No kings but the Spanish are out there. Big enough we caught them on menhaden. Fishing the drop just outside the last channel marker.

Reeldawg thanks for the report! I had some family get here late by the time they got here and we got out we got caught in the storm. I was going to try that area. Did you just troll the menhaden? I was going to troll some x raps and a mackahoo tip with menhaden.

Good luck to anyone fishing today. This Friday we hope to hit the shipping channel and work our way out to the Betsy. Yesterday At station creek a guy and his family said they had a good day in the channel trolling for Spanish but said he was not able to find live bait so he trolled with Clark spoons. What size spoons are ya’ll trolling with? I am used to using live bait or Bally’s for kings. Also thanks for the reports.

I’ve been out there three times in the last week. Yesterday was the first time we were able to net bait. They were a couple mile offshore on the Hilton head side. Lots of them but hard to net in that open clear water. Dirty water was the ticket. We’ve caught Spanish on plugs and manhaden. I hate pulling planers but they produce. I prefer plugs. Easier to deal with and still catch fish. Yesterday we started trolling just outside the last bouys. Today is family day. Tomorrow I’m here alone so I think I’ll go try and get some big mullet. Hopefully back at it Thursday. Plan to run out somewhere deeper. King reports or any information is about impossible down here.

Btw- I haven’t caught on this week but the bull reds will eat a big plug. The humps in the shipping channel. Manns or rapala they bounce off the humps. When you go over them.
Saw some triple tail floating in the tide line with the trash.

Small Clark spoons for catching Spanish. Medium for bigger Spanish. Or the manns stretch 20. Rainbow trout color to be exact. It has spots on it. Looks like a manhaden. I troll two of those off the corners and two of something else on the t-top sides.
