wonder what everyone thought about JB on saturday?
I thought he played well, but not great. Had some nice down field throws. But it seems they didnt open the play book for him.

I thought he had a really nice touch on the ball. It was also refreshing to see a quarterback actually read the defense and make some check down throws. He looks to be well ahead of Bmac in the area of understanding his reads and I think that is why he was played. I guess they will add some more to the playbook this week. I kept waiting on the play action on first down.
Just to make sure I’m clear on this, they burnt a year of his eligibility to beat UMASS and possibly Western Carolina?
yes. that gets them to 5 wins. if the ball bounces right…maybe Missou
Ed to me it really does not matter if they burned a year. If the kid is as good as everyone thinks he is going to be he would be gone anyway. If they do not have someone to take his place in two years with the effort they put into recruiting I will be surprised. To me it is more about having the experience on the field for next year and showing some of the big receiver recruits that have committed that there will be someone who can get them the ball down the field.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

He looked pretty good on the few plays I watched. Granted it was against one of the worst FBS teams in the country, but he had a nice touch and was hitting open receivers.
quote:Have you been under a rock the past year? Spurrier has said that he quit on recruiting and they were not that good the last few years. Spurrier Jr was in charge and he has something like 12 kids and just didn't have the extra time to do his effing job.

Let’s see how he does against that pass rush of UT, he had a couple of nice passes. to be honest I think Orth or BMac could have done the same thing. This was the first time any QB has actually had time to throw the ball. Also, Jake had the benefit of having all skill players healthy and on the field at the same time, Orth nor BMac had that opportunity.

He looked sharp, against a 1-6 team. The kid has potential, but there are serious issues with the right side of that offensive line. Something needs to change in that area, doesn’t matter who’s under center.

I didn’t watch much of the game and didn’t see the touchdown passes. Sounds promising.

the kid can make the throws. and that is what the post is about JB, nothing more. If the o-line doesn’t block, it doesnt matter who the QB is.

Whatcha talking about Willis?
Most of the best college QB’s differentiate by being able escape pressure and still make a play. A throw on the run, finding a receiver after breaking a tackle, tucking and running etc.
