I am mainly a kayak guy but due to back problems I am shore bound for now. I am gonna take a buddy I work with out to Folly to try the surf. I have heard low tide is best but itll be incoming and high when we are there tomorrow. Lookin for any insight into the tides and surf fishing. Thanks for the help
Two hours on each side of peak high/low seems to work best for me. Only got two hours to fish folly this weekend, but caught a 14" red on falling near dead low. I go any chance I get. I have two ruptured discs in my back, and the motion of surf casting seems to actually help me. Good luck to ya’ll !!

I prefer incoming, I don’t have to move as often. But as Andy said, 2 before and 2 after seem to be the most consistent bite. For me most of the time, 2 hours before low gives me a chance to find the deepest spots and position myself to fish those areas. Regardless, high/low you need to find the holes. I have moved 2 or 3 times in 2 hours as the tide falls, sometimes 1 or 2 blocks.
And man Andy a two hour surf trip would only piss me off.
YankinReds, Let us know how that cross off wind and current treated you. looks like an “angry ocean” day. Will probably be tough to hold bottom.
Current was brutal. Couldnt hold bottom at all. Fished for 3 ish hours with no bites. Wind was coming over my left shoulder so that wasnt too bad. Gotta get back in my yak.
