Tigers

To win big every team needs some breaks and a little luck along the way in College Football. It seems like this may be the case for the tigers this year. They said the other night the 4 of the nine teams they have remaining on their schedule have lost their starting quarterback for the season. I have not verified this, just heard one of the college shows that follows recruiting on the radio the other night while driving. Could this be the bit of luck they need to propel them into a potential shot at the playoff?

Or it could be a setup for an excuse when they win, or more reason to rub it in if they lose.

I don’t know Andy. It’s still early and a lot of time for that “luck” to turn the other way. I know injuries play a huge part in a teams success. I believe Watson’s health could swing the win/loss record 2/4 games. Every team has bad breaks, but in the end the record stands.

Not a setup by me, I like to see them win and the only game I really care about them losing is when they play Carolina. I do not think they are as good as the preseason hype, but if they can catch a break here and there, you never know. They definitely have the talent I just don’t think they have the experience as of yet, but the season is a long one and those young guys may look totally different as the season progresses and they get experience.

Yeah, setup wasn’t the right term, just excuse. A few games can make a lot of difference if kids want to learn. Hopefully, that along with luck is the case.

Clemson is young across the board with it’s toughest games coming up. If they get by ND next week, the sky is the limit for what they can do. Winning that one with all the hype that is already coming out can go a long way to helping the younger guys mature and play to their potential provided Watson stays healthy. The raw talent is there, the experience and maturity is lacking right now. Losing Williams hurts a lot until Cain or Peake decide to step up to the big stage. The key is the OL, those guys have to play better than they did against Louisville, hopefully some of the injured will be back next week.

Do they run the table? Doubtful, I’m thinking two losses, probably ND and FSU. With both of them being close games. If FSU drives inside the 40 in a 2pt game late in the 4th, they win. Their kicker is great.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I don’t see us making the playoff this year. Or OL is too young and no depth. Probably will lose against either ND, GT or FSU.

Unless, as you said, we get a few lucky fumbles, tips, calls in our favor etc.

Next year is a different story. We only lose 3 or 4 starters and will have Mike Williams back with McCloud and Deon Cain ramped up. A year of experience for our young line. Watch out!

Might get some box seats:smiley:

Clemson is not a playoff team in 2015.

There is no reason to think that they are based on other teams losing whatever. The ACC has no respect this year, loss of starting QB’s doesn’t mean anything when your roster is packed with talent at the position (a la OSU), and we don’t have the offensive line to let our QB have more than a second and a half to get the ball out.

No reason to let people have delusions of grandeur at this point. If we do make it into a playoff this year, the result will be ugly…

Clemson has had it’s fair share of injuries this year too. Losing Mike was huge.

I agree with the notion that Clemson isn’t a playoff team this year, though it’s pretty hard to see who is. Utah seems pretty tough.

First, Most, Biggest

Clemson is not a playoff caliber team right now. But since they have a real chance to run the table, they could be by years end. They look out of sync on offense but it is still good enough to win out. Keep wining and the kinks will get worked out. As Andy said above, what looked like a tough stretch at the beginning of the year does not look the same now.

Regardless of how sorry GT has looked over the past two weeks, something tells me that they’ll be ready for the Clemson game.

The way the ball bounces these days, upsets week after week, I wouldn’t count on any game until the “W” is officially in the books!!
