Was going to take my girlfriend out over SB, but I am not sure that she will be able to handle a trip to the Snapper Banks/Needle or the Ross. I don’t want to get out there and have her get sick and start whining and burn gas when I have to turn around. Just wondering if there would be anything at the little Tire Reef besides BSB, maybe some bull Reds right now? Maybe some B-Liners?
As expected nothing but short BSB, kept seeing a solid mark about 15 ft. down as I drifted over the same spot about 300 yes directly south of the buoy, anyone have an idea of what it/they could have been? I tried Spanish Sardines/Squid and Jigs to see if it was something but nothing?
No bananas, maybe I should just give up fishing haha. Went out to Eagles Nest a few days later to get my parents on the boat. Same, tons of BSB, but they were much larger and limited out in about 45 min. after tossing anything smaller than 15" back.
Tire Reef is about 12 Miles out of Calibogue and Eagles Nest is about 18, they are both SCDNR artificial wrecks. You can look up the exact coordinates on the SC DNR website I believe.
