seen the whole video… imo toney couldnt avoid it… the not not only started walking towards on comming traffic but made a few jkes to get in his way… you can tell tony did dry and avoid him because he didnt skull smash the guy but rather clipped him with a tire…
its just dumb its the guys fault if his car was broke or damaged you stay in car yellow flag flies everything is under control you get out medics blah blah blah… to get out on the track and do what the guy did was a death wish… night race,small fast track, cars sliding around corners to behin with…
if you want to get out whoop that A you do it in the pits. heck im all for drivers brawling or getting head smashed in with a helmit in the pits…
i am 110% ok with no fines no missed nascar for tony and im usually the one to say burn him and never let him in the sport…

Looks to me like the wing decapitated him, not being clipped by a tire? Hence no appearance of Wards (silver) helmet after the crash, it’s under his chest with his back towards the camera.

I’m pretty sure Stewart never saw Ward until it it was too late (poorly lit track, and dark driver suit on Ward) and about the same time Ward realized he was going to be hit by Stewart. Stewart accelerated hard and steered right in an evasive maneuver to spin out and away to miss Ward, but failed and ended up hitting him with the wing of his car? Just an opinion from an old short tracker.

in the vid i saw it looked like he clipped him with a tire which than thru him up and flug him pretty hard if the wing took his head off idk… its more than possibly i only watched it one time…
either way he got out of the car… ran towards race cars and got hit… sounds exactly like how it should happen in that instance…

so im not the only one who says he got clipped by the tire…
Stewart’s engine seemed to rev up pretty harsh just at the moment where he passed him, and made a swerve to the right. At first it didn’t look to me like fishtailing, but more like perhaps he tried to swing “close” to him as intimidation… without knowing that he had actually snagged him. But I’ve watched the video over and over. The engine revs, the rear tires lose traction, but the front wheels seem to turn to the right as if he intentionally were revving/swerving to the right.
But it’s really hard to tell. Stewart needs to explain why his engine revved up just as he passed him, and why his vehicle swerved to the right. It could have just been him fishtailing, or Lord only knows what.
Either way, I think it’s clear that not everything can be pinned on Stewart. The guy got out to shake his fist at Stewart.
I don’t know much about Stewart or if he is known for temper problems, but I think most drivers are more mature than to swerve/rev to intimidate someone that has enough guile to walk out onto the track.
The dumbass should have never gotten out of his car. Sometimes being stupid gets you killed.

If you get out of your car on a race track and start walking towards the cars…you can’t really place a whole lot of blame on Stewart.
Ward was not wearing a silver helmet.
He also made contact with Stewart’s right front initially.

Been on very low light track an could not see anything
in the middle of the corners would not expect someone
walking on the track. Tony did the best he could
to miss the driver on the track.
Been spun out but never got out of car until the roll back got
there. Know it was safe then to leave the car.
Then go to pits an work things out.
Apparently a new video out showing ward climbing on stewart’s car as he went by, can’t find a clip of it though.
