I am Assuming USC beats Coastal Carolina and Clemson beats Citadel.
The only way USC moves up in the polls is that someone above loses and no one leapfrogs.
So which team has best change of a loss?
Bama vs Chattanooga
FSU vs Idaho
OSU vs Indiana
Baylor vs OK state (both are above USC in the polls)
Oregon vs Arizona
Mizzou vs Ole Miss
Stanford vs Cal
A top 10 matchup in WB would we epic for this little state.
Kickoff for Clemson/Carolina will be at 7PM, should make for a fun day of tailgating and a great atmosphere in Williams Brice.
Baylor will be challenged in the OK state game, but I think they come out on top. Missouri/Ole Miss might be a shootout too. That game is in Oxford and Ole Miss has only lost to really good teams this year.
Unless Baylor lays an egg against OSU and loses big, I think they would stay above USC in the BCS. I think they win however and that would put USC at #10 after next weekend. Not only would a Top 10 matchup be epic, it will be a first ever in the series!
On a side note, I see Mizz losing to Ole Miss or A&M and you being the SEC Champ game as well.
I really think Baylor loses and that would keep USC out of the top 10, but to answer the question.
Baylor beating OSU gives USC the best hope/probability of inching into the #10 spot. I know I will be watching this game Saturday night, along with TAMU/LSU that afternoon. Not really any other games that interest me that day.
However, I think TAMU beating LSU will leapfrog them into the #10 spot over USC. I would love a top 10 in state matchup, but it doesn’t look likely to me.
I do, but I still think other odds are at play. Just Mizzou losing won’t put USC in the spot. It would take Baylor winning as well. Or Baylor losing and TAMU losing. I just think it will take the right combination for USC to take that top 10 spot. No one game is going to do it was my point.

Gotcha. I just think mizzou at #8 and 2 losses, would put them below USC. Plus either Baylor or OK State have to lose.
At this point anything is possible. I just want a top 10 showdown in WB at night.
While we are on the subject of rankings, anyone check out the Sagarin rankings? Interesting to see the top 10 and top 30 records along with the strength of schedule.
I guess if they would not have removed the margin of victory factor Clemson may be a little higher, and USC a little lower.
Bama has zero top 10 wins and Stanford has 2. Interesting.
