I used to have a few pics like this from the late 80’s/early 90’s from when Hugo blew through. The company my dad worked for sent his crew down to the IOP for rebuilding the sand dunes that Hugo demolished. They had more than one that got high-tide fever when unwary drivers would leave them parked in the wrong spot. Fortunately my dad wasn’t one of them, he knew better. His roommate did the same thing, but had a good excuse, the thing broke down on him and they couldn’t move it.
Dad told me that the functioning ones would short and and crank as the water got into the electrical systems.
