this is a great recipe for trigger fish. It works for any frim fish
such as blue fish, but you can’t beat it cooked with triggers!
1 lb. triggers chopped up into 1/2 cubes
1 lg. egg beaten
3 tbsb mayonnaise
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp, old bay seasoning
2 tbsb. parsley, finely chopped
10+ unsalted saltine crackers
mix the egg, mayo,salt,2 tsp old bay & parsley in a bowl.add 1/2 the crumbled saltines and combine well.fold in the fish & make 4 paddies. I use the rim top off a mason jar to form the paddies on wax papper, as they are very moist.
put in the freezer for 1hr. so the burgers will frim up. use the remaining crumbled up crackers to coat the paddies after you take them out of the freezer and fry in hot oil 2 to 3 min per side.
refrain from fiddling with them to much or they will flake apart. put on a bun with a slice of tomato, some romain & tarter if you like, enjoy!
Jazzed, they are top shelf! going to try DillyDally’s slap yo momma grillin sauce tomorrow night on some mahi.going to love this form! I feel only a true sportsman can appreciate the thrill of the kill if he dosn’t enjoy the prep and consumption of the game. My sons frist wing shot on a dove hunt was a red winged black bird! we cleaned it & fryed it with the days bag! If we are not going to eat it we don’t kill it.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
Bug I caught my my son and the neighbors kid shooting sparrows with a BB gun. They had about a dozen in a back pack along with two Jays. Made them clean them and eat em. We still laugh about it, but he doesn’t shoot “tweety” birds any more. Betcha they didn’t taste as good as your burgers sound.
Bug Catcher…found it and fixing it up tonight. Apreciate the phone call, too. I spiced it up a little more than the recipe calls and still got the thumbs up by the family. Again, appreciate it and keep 'em coming.

great recipe and great post! good to see the pictures- made me try it right away-but I didnt have any triggers-never had much luck catching them- so I substituted some mahi and it was awesome.
I made them tonight. They were a huge hit and I appreciate you sharing the recipe. I will back off the salt a little bit next time but otherwise it was a great recipe.
