Over the years, probably the most successful artificial lure of all time has been the bucktail. It’s basically a fly tied on a jig head.
We had the idea to try the classic bucktail tied on one of our Trout Eye jigheads. Ralph and I have been product testing them over the past couple weeks, and they really work well!
We are offering limited quantities of them for sale on our website on our NEW and GREATLY IMPROVED online store. We currently have 19 brown/white with gold eye and 9 blue/white with glow eye posted. ralphphillipsinshore.com/store
My last trip, I found a school of trout with a few reds mixed in and they out-fished a Gulp sapphire shine jerk shad by approx 3:1. Without the weight of a plastic they are kind of light, so using them with a spinning rod is recommended for longer casts. Fish them like you would a mirrodine: Very slow retrieve with short jerks and pauses. The hair does most of the work.
We have more brown/white and blue/white bucktails in stock on our store. Thanks for your patience!
Flounder are filling in inshore, and you know they will pounce on these
Remember they are light, so give them enough time to get to the bottom and work them slow ralphphillipsinshore.com/store
Your down 5 each Brown/Blue and hate it, 5 Carolina’s because you were out of the Clemson! I think Clemson, catch’s many more fish! Especially when you slow troll them:wink:
Easy, now thats funny! We do have 10 Clemson in stock, and it shows on the store, just FYI. If you want I can swap Carolina for Clemson on your order. Just let me know.
