Are still my favorite artie this time of year! Fished with a buddy for the first 3 hours of incoming Sat morning and the bite was on fire, then it shut off like a light switch. Sweet tea looking water in the Cooper at 55°. I’ll probably have a moment of silence when my 100pack of OG Trout Tricks runs out haha
I guess my question is where do you get a hundred pack lol. Nice job
Contact or PM Optiker. They can hook you up where they make 'em. They have all kinds of sizes and colors.

I definitely got them from Dave at Eye Strike or eyestrickefishing.com last year… but I’m not sure if these are still available as these are not made from the Zman plastic. These are the original color and material. Maybe Dave can confirm soon. Not to knock the Zman version because I catch fish on those as well… there’s just something about these original ones that I can’t explain…could be a mental thing too you know. Ever heard: What’s on your mind goes down your line! ??
As Stump knows, the O.G. TT there is something magical about them. Unfortunately they have gone the way of the dinosaur. Although I did see that Southern Drawl Outfitters in HH recently posted a stack of packs of them. Not sure where they came from. Whether or not I have a secret stash…I’m not telling

Someone should call up Gambler (original manufacturer and owner of 4") and have them make a 4.5". Cut the first 4 rings off the head as they just split anyways.
Until then you are at the mercy of personal stashes.
Z-Man owns the rights to the TT and we have discussed briefly having another run made. You need to run the machine for a full day or something so its not a small investment. Its not really in Z-Mans interest to make them for obvious reasons but I think they would consider it.

There I something kind of magical about those original TT’s. I haven’t fished regularly lately but, when I did, I caught more on the originals than any other. We’ve even caught fish on both coasts of FL with them. I’d be in for some if they made some more.
“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?
Had some of the originals years ago when they came out while living in Hilton Head. Never used them but moved back to Lake Norman outside of Charlotte and used them on shakey heads for bass and they worked as good as any other fat/straight tail worm I had in the boat.
What do you do with them on the Eye Strike jig meaning what is the method of presenting the bait and the type of retrieve on using the TT worm? Just curious as to what makes it so great and if it’s something I need to consider adding to the saltwater arsenal. Not sure if it’s a swimming worm or a bottom contact/shakey head kind of presentation as I look at it I’d think the latter but honestly can’t say as I have not thrown it since moving down here. Thanks guys!
I Have 100 so I part with the orginal TT that Bob Sanders sold to me several years ago Fished with Bob many times while he was at Edisto Beach, we killed the trout with the TT on a 1/8 plain jig head still a go to bait for me Fish as shown in the video mention earlier.
Thanks Dave. Wow, that reminds me a ton of tube fishing for smallies and even bottom finesse jigging for walleye in that it looks like in the video you’re again making bottom contact over and over after the twitch presentation. The rod tip up and reeling to take up slack on the fall is a super important just as you mentioned. That same principle applies equally to detecting subtle bites when tube fishing for smallmouth. Smallmouth bass are “bullies” in that they will bite moving baits for sure but they will HAMMER an injured looking bait even harder. That’s why hard bait jerk bait fishing for them is so legendary. Lose contact with your bait on the fall and you’ll never know he’s got it unless he starts stripping line.
I’ll give it a shot with the trout eye jig heads for sure. I can see the TT rigged weedless/weightless on a 5/0 EWG hook being useful in and along side of the grass too with a loop knot in front of it to make it really move erratically then kill it and let it wait to get crushed. Cool stuff, thanks again for pointing me to the video library.

Whats the shelf life on these?
Gambler still makes a 4" model.
They changed the name, used to be called the Stud IIRC, now it’s called Shaky Shad. Dig through their website you can find it.

Seem to still be available through Zman’s website…I didn’t try to buy them, but indication is that they are still available for purchase in packs of 10 for $6.99.
Question for Stump, Optiker or others: What’s your take on TT in Elaztec in the “mood ring” color compared to original TT? Seems to be nearly identical to original.

The way the talked on the phone Z-Man has absolutely no interest in running the original ever again. You may get different information being closer to the source/decision makers.
Gambler needs to make the production run. There is something specific about the plastic and the manufacturer process.
Close is not close enough. That would be like having Bass Pro Shop make the Senko. Nope, not the same, not even close Stik-O.
If someone can work the deal through Z-Man for Gambler to make a full day run at a reasonable price, I have no problem pre-ordering.
Anyone know how many baits are made in a days run? 4,000, 8,000???
The mood ring color is pretty close but there is something about the original that is just different it is almost translucent and when it goes underwater it almost has a blue hue. But as Frig points out… sometimes close just doesn’t cut it and I would also like to know how many would be considered a day’s worth in a run.

Many years ago I checked on a day’s run of a soft plastic, it was somewhere in the ballpark of 6000-7000. That was a long time ago, technology increases may have upped the number.
You can call Gambler, tell them what you want, and get a price on a day’s run. Let people here know, you’ll likely get enough people wanting to chip in to make it affordable.
