Turkey Bite is On!!! - 09/06/09

Truth be told, anything can happen at Edisto, and you never know what you might see. That’s why we love the life on this beautiful island.

When we woke up this morning, we were just sitting out on the front porch greeting the day. Before long we saw some turkeys walking up the road, which is not too unusual. But these guys actually decided to be friendly with us and hung out here for about 45 Minutes. One of them even left me a little “present” on the hood of my suburban to show his appreciation.

They were beautiful! What a great way to start a day

That is wild! I bet they won’t be that friendly come mid March…

Amazing how they always are to be seen until Opening day.

i saw the same turkeys in 174 the other day- what does the little yellow ankle band mean

Someone has banded and released these birds. DNR did not do it. We called them to find out. they are fairly tame right now, but won’t be for long.
