I am a Clemson fan since '75 and Dabo’s rant sounded a bit silly to me @ first.However,I now see how he used it,along with www blogs and the media,to fire up his team for their biggest game of the season.It seems that it worked,especially with the defense.They were aggressive and after the ball from the first play(recovered fumble) much like the Cocks D when we played them.Dabo and staff are probably thanking Todd Ellis for alledgedly misquoting The OBC now.Todd isn’t known in Klumbya as being the sharpest knife in the drawer.I believe he threw a pass away to stop the clock on 4th down while playing NC State in the late '80s LOL.

Dabo’s rant was as planned/staged as Spurrier’s rant on Morris.
Whether Dabo was doing it to get the team’s mindset past the domination the wknd before in Columbia or to take some attention off the coming game or what- it was definately something he planned on doing as he rattled off stuff for 4 minutes or so.
I fully believe Spurrier’s rant against Morris was planned the same way as he knew the Garcia news would be coming out, and he knew the team needed less attention on that coming from the outside if at all possible.
Both media stunts worked well IMO. Clemson destroyed VT, and Columbia went on to improve very much from that Auburn loss and Kentucky scrimage win.
