We have been diving fresh water that has between 15 and 20 feet visibility.
How does that compare to offshore 60 - 100 foot depths and the visibility that you guys dive in. Is it much better?

Visibility really varies. We have no idea what the vis is going to be like from one day to the next. Plankton blooms, storms, strong tides, all factor into how the vis will be. Some days the vis is 70’ others days you cant see the tip of your speargun. Nearshore is always crappy vis.

How close in on the near shore?
I now the water where we go our is looking better a mile or so out but when we are out say 10 or 15 miles it seems consistently clear. But what can I tell from the top side.
We were at 130 feet in the lake the other day and if you could spear fish it would have to be with a flashlight!
