I took out a Mom, Son, and Daughter from St. Pete on Wednesday morning hoping for some good Spanish fishing. We went out to see what was going on out and around the 60. After awhile we got over to the marker and there was already a boat hooked up with a dolphin. Evidently someone actually did pull a 25 pound dolphin off of the 60 earlier this week.
So by this time, Son is green and chumming over the rail for us. We made a couple of passes on the dolphin school and had 6 knockdowns all on spoons, tigerbaits, and hoo+blue and white. Had one Barracuda that pulled the hook at the boat. Mom is also getting a little green by this time, and son had an idea to stop and drop for some spades.
Mom on one side and Son on the other side now both are green and giving us quite the chum line. So it’s me and Daughter having a great time with the Spades while Mom and Son cheer/chum. Daughter never gave a sign of getting sick all morning.
On the way back in, we found some more Spanish and caught the boat a good limit until it was time head for the dock.
Despite the two getting sick, we really had a great time. Don’t worry, you guys will feel better after awhile. I hated to see it, but sometimes it happens to the best of them.
We hope to see ya’ll again soon. Thanks.

No, people do not usually get sick on my charters, as I usually fish inshore. But someone who goes offshore and isn’t used to it, well you never can tell.

I keep a bottle of Meclizine,Buclizine or Cyclizine on the boat in case anyone gets sick. The old Dramamine didnt help once someone was already suffering from motion sickness but the new class of drug does.
It is sold under the names Dramamine II, Antivert, Bonine, Marezine, Meclicot, Medivert and others. It is inexpensive and available over the counter. Most come in chewable form and do help someone who is already sea sick. (Assuming of course you can keep it in them long enough to start working!)
