Yesterday morning I met Jason, Rick and friends at the dock to go fishing. It’s early, and these guys had fished at Edisto before, so all is great. I’m looking forward to going after the reds, and we nailed them.
Everything goes great and we catch a few nice bass to start with. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. Then, Jason hooks up, and not 30 seconds later, Rick’s rod goes off. So we are working a double. Jason gets his fish up to the boat, and Rick is hollering for the net. We get Jason’s fish, picture, and then the net. Then here comes Rick’s rascal into the net, and then he makes a run right through the the bottom of my net! So, get the picture. The line is off the rod tip through a torn dip net and we have a hot redfish fussing at us in the water. No sooner than we cut the line and handline that one in, then Jason had cast back and had another one hitting.
That just goes to show that you never know just what can happen. My sidekick calls to see how the fishing is going and if I need anything. Yes! A dip net, good! He comes wheeling by after awhile and brings me a new net. Thanks!
I’ll have to say that I really enjoyed fishing with these guys and we had a great time. I was glad I could show them how much fun you can really have fishing at Edisto.
Thanks guys. I’ll look forward to fishing with ya’ll again soon!
More pictures will follow!
