Upper Ashley River

This is not a fishing report, but I have passed this by Andy since last year we had several people mention that they did not see the notice posted in Off Topic section.

Please join SSWA in helping to clean up the Upper Ashley River on Saturday, March 12th. After our historic floods last October, the river is worse than ever. We need BOATS. All you need to do is show up, bring your boat and a long pole with a net attached. We will provide coffee, lunch, bags, and it will be a good time for a great and worthy cause. That day will be a big tide and fishing will be tough so might as well come help :sunglasses:

Please see our Facebook page for more information here https://www.facebook.com/AshleyRiverCleanup/ and please Like and Share it to help get the word out.

Those that don’t have FB (I don’t blame you!) here is another spot for more info http://summervillesaltwateranglers.com/ashley-river-cleanup/

THANK YOU!

PS. Here is the other post in Off Topic http://old.charlestonfishing.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=160630

Optiker-check your PMs.

I’d be happy to ride along and contribute. I am currently boat-less. I fish the Ashley up in Summerville, and I can certainly see the toll the floods have taken.

flywatt - great! Come on by and we will hook you up with a boat. Thanks for your help.

Thanks to the Stono River members for allowing Optiker and I to talk about the clean up. As a bonus I finally got to meet Stonoman. Thanks everyone and we look forward to seeing you at the clean up.

Flywatt, there will likely be a spot in my boat if you haven’t found you a place! Shoot me a pm if you want to.

I’m posting this only East Cooper Fishing Club forum, thank you for coming to the last meeting to invite our members to help. I hope we can have some boat show up.

For those with boats…show up. For those without boats…show up. It’ll work out.

Thank you Claim, and the rest who have responded. We don’t want to run short on food!
Please respond if you haven’t already, in some way. We are down to almost 1 week. It will be a great event

Before I can definitively commit to a yes I have do a couple of things:

1 - Make sure my boat will run (I may have a bad battery or 2)
2 - Make sure the day is not in conflict with my son’s Eagle Scout project.

If those 2 things get a pass…I’ll be there.
