My gut says that USC is still more physical and if that plays out they will win the game in similar fashion as the last 4.
If they do not get to Boyd and Clemson strikes early and gets a turnover then I think the 63-17 game could be in jeopardy. If they get on that roll I think Dabo in still immature as a coach and will keep the gas pedal down if he can because of the last 4 years.

After sitting out this week’s game, I sure hope Mike Davis and Clowney come in to play at the top of their game.
I think this year will go down to the last series or two. I think the teams are a lot closer matched than in the previous years.

Like the last four years, USC controls the trenches. Mike Davis will keep the ground game going, which will allow USC to eat clock at rest the defense – huge. Clemson is going to miss Nuke Hopkins a lot. Bryant has been very good, but he’s kind of a one-trick pony. USC will not let him go over the top, and that will allow them to constantly fade a safety to help with Watkins.
You’d think that means USC wins easily, but special teams will keep it closer. Tyler Hull has to punt better than he has all year, because Clemson is not a team you can spot 20+ yards a possession and expect to beat.
All in all a good game, but the weapons USC has developed this year (Byrd, Roland, Cooper, Davis) give Shaw too many options for Clemson’s D to handle. Clemson scores, but USC’s defense makes them work for it and keeps them to only 31. USC wins 38-31.

I don’t know what will happen this year (look at my parlay picks) but, I just saw games stats from the last 4 years. USC has been far more dominant than I thought. They have led in virtually every category. This biggest one though has been keeping Clemson’s offense off the field and hobbling Boyd. If the USC D line can generate pressure and the O can control the ball, game over.
However, if you put a gun to my head, I would pick the tiggers to win a close one this year. The Cocks have not (in my opinion) played consistently all year and have not really taken care of lesser opponents like they should have. Clemson has soundly beaten everyone that they should have. Their only negative is being beaten so soundly by FSU. Tiggers 30 - USC 27.

That hurts to watch. I must say, the first loss and last years loss stings the most. Last year just felt like an old war wound getting ripped open again. I just hope Clemson can stop the bleeding this year. Ever since I moved to Columbia, Clemson has not won. It’s getting harder to put up with these fans.
