This time of year, get some keeper blue crabs and quarter them, drop them in a creek hole near a bend and you are pretty sure to catch a bonnet head. They are a blast on light tackle!
Remember to handle them by grabbing behind the head, not by the tail!

Check the reef section and run to the Edisto 40. You should be able to catch bottom fish. Possible also are spanish, bluefish and spadefish.
