Does anyone know if it is okay/legal to bank fish from the park area at Wappoo Cut ramp? I am boatless for now, and looking for places other than piers to fish, and thought that area looked like it might be worth a shot.

Fishing is allowed at the park area. Current rips thru there pretty good most of the time. Worth a shot? I don’t see why not.
I’ve been boatless for about 15 years…have not missed it for fishing the salt.

I have actually fishing under the bridge there, and it is prone to snags. I didn’t fish is for long, but I broke off on the bottom quite a few times. If you do fish there, I wouldn’t cast towards the bridge. Tell us how you do if you do go!

Ive caught quite a few trout & flounder on the Charleston side - dragging jig heads with grubs over the shell area 2 hours either side of low tide.
Finally made it out there today to fish. I hooked op on 2 trout. It was at peak high tide, so timing probably wasn’t the best. Saw 3 dolphins also.
