had the day off and after canceling a trip to go bottom fishing out 20nm, late tuesday night i was still determined to feel the pull of a fish and maybe get some tasty white fillets in the process. so dropped the minnow trap and took the girls to lunch, returned to 3 doz muds, and packed it up. hit a rock pile and pulled a 12" flatty of in short order, then the whiting brigade arrived and all over the rocks i was fishing, of course throwing way out with store bought rigs, i manage to get a few more casts right in front of them (they had gone out on the rocks) and got a 16" flounder from literally feet in front of them. wasnt able to really fish where i wanted, so i left for the other end of the island where 1 more flatty spit the hook at my feet. hit one more spot on the drive home and nabbed a 19" trout ( biggest i have caught in 3-4yrs)…so all in all good salvage of the day, half family time half relaxing fishing on the sand. plus fish for lunch today
nice report
