Need to replace line on outriggers.Saw on a post where sombody used Weed eater line for outriggers. Not sure what size to use.Figured about the same as line on riggers now.Maybe 2 different colors for long and short.Post was on a while back so could’nt remember what size they used.Hope it slides better than rope line does.Any suggestions on size.
Can’t remember exactly what size, but I think mine are .065"
Just make sure you can get crimps to fit the line and get the round shaped line. Lots of the weed-eater lines now are weird shapes and they probably won’t work as well.
100 lb. mono works very well. It holds up and is relatively inexpensive.

I use weed eater line - I use different colors on the inside & outside - and I use the triangular line - It does not creep down but moves easily when you pull it down.
Does it stretch? Not that I have room to talk but it seems like you are cutting a corner here. Those things working are pretty important part of your fishing day
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
seems like it wouldnt cut weeds if it stretched
You can buy LP Primeline from most tackle shops. Comes in a bunch of colors and holds up well. Somewhere around 414 or $17. If you have a center console you probably only need one pack. I think it is 2.0 diameter.
Not sure how it compares in price to weedeater line though.
400 lb Mono outrigger line. Why use something else???

It works fine and will not tangle up at all.
Now you will have a n*****rigger. Keeps weeds off your baits.

If you really plan on doing much trolling at all go to Atlantic Game & Tackle or Haddrell’s and get some 400lb mono and Blacks Outrigger Clips and don’t forget the crimps to fit the 400lb mono. Weedeater line is for weedeaters. Would you want to use mono in your weedeater? What I’m telling you has been proven throughout the world by a vast majority of professionals. You can use different clips than Blacks, but IMO they are the most economical, simple to use and maintenance free clips you’ll find. The LP (Lingren Pitman) is the best stuff to use, but any 400lb mono will work just fine.

I agree with the 400 lb mono. I just finished building a center console and will have two double rigged outriggers as well as a center rigger. Pictured below is the supplies I will use.
use 120# mono works reel nice

What Capt. Jamie said-- Hooked please don’t put weedeater line on your boat, I know it’s tough to hold back the redneck in you but this would be a good time to hold it back and use LP 400# mono- I’ll give you the 2.2 crimps needed for free just to keep this from happening
Thanks for hookin me up Jeremy. Those things are smooooth.
