Went Fishing by Harbor Island today..

I had only been out 1 time this year so far and finally got a chance to get out. I went back to a spot where I was catching fish in November hoping they would still be there but only one bite in 4 hours fishing. The spot I was fishing is where water drys up on both sides of this small creek and the middle holds water right behind harbor Island. I tried cut mullet, shrimp, and gulp. The one bite that I missed was on a gulp not moving it at all. I wish I could have caught some fish but it was still fun. I had to get to the spot by kayak, here are some pics I took.

I was out that way today too. I fished harbor river from coosaw all the way to the rock jetties on fripp. I’m not sure if it’s me or the fish but I could not get a single one to bite. I did scout out some spring time areas which made a good excuse for why I didn’t catch anything today! After you cross under the bridge coming from st. Helena sound there are hundreds of oyster mounds and mud flats. You should be able to get anywhere you want in that kayak and should lead to some good redfish. There’s no telling what gets trapped in there on low water.

Yeah that spot by harbor bridge is one of my favorites, I have not fished it in winter yet.

Well it’s the only place that I marked fish on my fish finder but the water stayed around 49? So that sounds like a good reason for no bites ha. I’m pretty anxious to fish it this spring. It’s almost hard to decide where to begin!
