Greetings all, last fall I was staying on Edisto for a few days and noticed some boats fishing between Edisto and Pine Island. If you come out of Big Bay Creek by boat and head south you will see the western point of Edisto on your left and Pine island on your right. While I was surf fishing on Edisto I noticed that a number of boats appeared to be bottom fishing in this location. They were farther off the surf than I could cast, more in the middle of the channel. What are they targeting in this area? Red drum? Black sea bass?
Not sure but I have caught some full grown sharks on the slope of the Pine Island bar
