What I Just Ate

I’ve tried and tried, but I don’t think I’ll ever get my wife to eat a steak even pink. Her favorite meat is a burnt hot dog. On the raw fish, my youngest daughter is like yours. She loves it. I caught some heat on this, but the cero mackerel we caught in Florida last year was some of the best I’ve had raw… other than some Yellowfin tuna loans.

We had some YFT earlier this year, imo wahoo might be the best I’ve ever had raw.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a bled, iced and trimmed Spanish Mack, makes a hell of a crudo- just slice thin, zest with lime, squeeze lime on, sprinkle crunchy sea salt and eat

Thanks OTC, I come to a fishing website to get my ice cream making tips and I’m not ashamed of it

About as Pink as I can do is medium well.

We had about a 200 lb bluefin got totally annihilated by a great white.
The guy I was fishing with Ron yes Captain Ron haha was cutting what little meat was left off and eating it. Blood running down his chin. Tells me I don’t know what I’m missing. Tells me the Japanese would pay $100 an ounce for that cheek meat.

I should have took the boat out, but forecast spooked me. I pulled out a couple of London broils instead and making jerky… almost done. Then for some shrimp and grits with the last pack in the freezer. And the grits will be red stone ground from Round O milling company.

OTC, that Ice Cream looks fantastic.

If there is a better grit within driving distance of me I’d already be going there.

Try the cracked pecans sometime

I’m not much on grits but I love me some beef jerky.

If any of y’all go through mcclellansville there’s an old dude on the corner selling watermelons and cantaloupes.
Best watermelon I’ve had in years.
In the fall he usually has sweet potatoes they’re always super good.

Watermelons cut waiting for it to get dark for fireworks.

So full…

Grits, ice cream, beef jerky, watermelon- hell yes to all

Taking kids to the fireworks store in the morning

My neighborhood is setting off some homemade stuff right now… the mortars you buy don’t shake dishes in the cabinet

Grandkids are like a School of piranhas on that watermelon.

Freshly graveled and grubbed

What are these things?

Give up?

Peaches and Plums. I hear figs are all the rage down there now, wish I could grow them.

Rainy dreary day
Good day for soup.

If you are lucky enough to see the blue ridge in July, well, you are lucky enough

Maybe it will rain and cool stuff down

Everything and I mean everything you post on food is some good looking stuff… Maybe this is too? if explained. What the heck is it?

Korean burger with a side of mac and cheeze. It had kimchee and asian spices, pretty good for $12 lunch special

Tonight was taco tuesday with brisket and mexican street corn
