What I Just Ate

Whats this? Is it worth anything?

How about this, I’ll be surprised if you guess this one

OK, OK, OK one more, I’ll make it an easy one then I really gotta go

You sure missed a great opportunity to have a picture of EF holding up Bun Bun in front of his face!

Probably depends where you’re from but I would call it a smudge pot

Did someone work for the railroad?

Toledo torch. We called them flamboles. A heap of fun rolling them in dry grass while lit.

I still have a few hanging in the shed at the compound.

I call them smudgepots too, although it has Toledo Mfg stamped on them. sman is right, they used to mark construction sights on highways and mark train trestles and crossings at night, from the 30’s thru the 50’s they were popular.

What about those other things?

Old time blow torch and a double wick lamp.To bad you ain’t got the glass to go with it.

I know, its been converted to electric, but still kinda cool

The blow torch thing is actually a gas torch used by plumbers to melt soder when joining those old pipes. Probably lots of other uses too.

What about the glass jar, you are 3 for 3 so far

I think the other thing is some type of oil burning light.

Its a reservoir for an old kerosene 3 burner stove. The stove rusted away during Regans days. Youd fill it up, turn it over and gravity fed the burners. Had a screw gate valve that controlled flow and thus heat

Enjoyed seeing all that old stuff. Thanks

All i gots is old stuff, lol

I’ve seen pics of your kitchen, truck and such… … don’t lie, not everything you have is old. and they did not have the ability to post and share pics like you have been doing.

Been going through my dads shed a bit today with my brothers and looking at old fishing tackle, cow bells, horse tack, and so much stuff that gets dragged along with life. I guess sometimes you just have to shed off some of it. I could not imagine the Wife and I ever moving and deciding on what should stay or go.

Here’s your smudge pot……

Did you say “Doublewide”?

I need my head examined to ever believe a yard sale was a good idea.

Somebody should have warned me, I hold you people at least partially responsible for the past 11 hours.

I wouldn’t do you that way. I cant believe nobody warned me.

Really, I need my friggin head examined.

Just think you get to meet all your neighbors.
