Stopped by the Asian market yesterday and got some wacky stuff to try with the kids


They almost wouldn’t try the crackers because of the weird fishy smell but they (and the 4legs) love them


I passed on the Taiwanese aged duck eggs (lead-free!) and the whole frozen snakehead

Lotta IQF fish I have no idea what they were

Baby bok choy in produce looked amazing and was like $2/lb, regret not getting some

Out past my bedtime…

No not really tex-Mex. More on the lines of seafood. It’s Captain Archie’s in North Myrtle Beach right on the waterway. It used to be captain poos. A drunk climbed up and was sitting on the rail and fell off and got paralyzed. And of course they filed a lawsuit.
I worked with the engineers and the attorneys on the defense side. All the rails and everything were in code.
It’s more or less a yuppie bar. But they do one hell of a business.

Good gracious! $19.29 a pound!!! Dammmm it man! That should be for a 45 day dry aged cut only less.

I’ll post up some pics of our st. Patty’s day meal. got 10 briskets thawing out and the wife has all the vegetables bagged up to cook up in the broth.

A friend was very generous with some blackfin and a big white grunt, so we ate it all weekend in every no-cook prep we could come up with. Still have enough to do nigiri tomorrow.
