Got a room at the Standish Motel in Standish MI. Last time I was here was almost a half century ago. Place hasn’t changed a bit.
On the way to the U.P. to visit my best friend since 4th grade. That’s the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He lives a few miles from Whitefish Point, where the Edmund Fitzgerald museum is, among many other interesting things. Lake Superior, etc.
Left Moncks Corner at 5:30am, 80°.Pulled in here at 8:30pm, 60°.

The wife and i drove through there a few years back. We spent time in Frankenmuth and Petosky and Mackinac before making our way over to Niagra. That’s a beautiful part of the country. I stuck my feet in every great lake!
Ford Museum is also pretty incredible.
